The Directory
The directory contains information about voluntary sector organisations (VSOs) who are either based in Islington, or who provide services to citizens or organisations in Islington. VSOs can request to have their information included in the directory, and can then update their own information online via this web site.
Directory Simple Search
The simple search lets you decide which directory field to search. Simple search only allows one field to be searched at a time. The fields are as follows:
Categories
VSO Name
Postcode
Full VSO Description
The advanced search looks a lot like the simple search but works in a different way. You can enter search terms (as above) in more then one field. However, this means the search will only return finds that include all of the terms you enter. This approach allows you to refine your search filter. Examples:
1. to find organisations who conform to a category of interest, and who mention key terms such as 'training' in their full VSO description.
2. to find organisations who conform to a category of interest, and who are located within a selected postcode.
Selecting a category and clicking 'Search' returns all organisations who assign themselves to that category.
Typing a keywork, part keyword, or phrase in 'quotes' returns all entries who have that search term in their name.
Type a part of the postcode to search for, e.g. N1 - note: only the first part of the postcode is searched (e.g. N1 2UD is searched as 'N1').
Typing a keywork, part keyword, or phrase in 'quotes' returns all entries who have that search term anywhere in their full description.
